Explore Anacortes

Anacortes, Washington

Surrounded by water, but accessible by bridge, Anacortes is the Homeport of the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Located on beautiful Fidalgo Island, Anacortes is conveniently situated halfway between Seattle and Vancouver BC and is the favored departure point for the San Juan Islands. More people travel to Anacortes as part of their vacation than any other San Juan Island!

Many of these people already know about our vibrant Old Town, with great restaurants, fun little shops, antique stores, and art galleries, but there is so much more to Anacortes and Fidalgo Island for those who are willing to explore!

The beating heart of Fidalgo Island is the 2800 acre Anacortes Community Forest Lands. Within this protected forest lies over 50 miles of trails, 4 beautiful lakes, and groves of old-growth trees. Visitors can obtain maps of the forest lands to guide them out to some beautiful vistas and quiet shorelines. Ask us when you check in for your tour and we will give you our own local knowledge of the best places to go.

As if the ACFL was not enough, we also have 4134 acre Deception Pass State Park, the most popular park in Washington State. Outstanding shorelines (77,000 feet bordering the sea; 33,900 feet of freshwater) can be accessed by miles of well-maintained trails.

Whether you are planning a day trip or a vacation, Anacortes has something for everyone. Come and see for yourself why savvy travelers choose Anacortes for their San Juan Islands vacation!

We were on our first kayak tour today with Andy and Leslie at 9am. What a great experience! Our 9 and 5 year old daughters can’t stop talking about what they saw and the fun they had kayaking. Just wanted you to know that Andy and Leslie were fantastic and made our first experience memorable. Please send our thanks again to Andy and Leslie for a great trip!

Thanks,
Gary Brennan
