Kayak Tour Highlights

  • Calm water, beautiful San Juan Islands scenery.
  • Kayaking along the “Orca Highway”, possible whale encounters
  • Lots of seals, eagles, and other interesting wildlife.
  • Great for beginners and families.

This is the most popular sea kayaking tour departing from San Juan Island due to the unparalleled beauty found near Roche Harbor.

The outstanding scenery, abundant wildlife, and one of the most protected routes anywhere in the San Juan Islands make this a favorite trip for beginners and families with children. You’ll be rewarded with fantastic views of many of the “outer” San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands. As your kayak guide leads you around to the west side of Henry Island you’ll find yourself paddling along the “Orca Highway”, so keep an eye out for the whales!

We’ve spent years kayaking throughout the San Juan Islands, and this remains one of our favorite places to enjoy a summer afternoon. We almost always get to see Bald eagles roosting in the trees, and a large population of Harbor seals use the secluded rocks to haul out and rest in the sunshine. When the tide is out, a fascinating array of inter-tidal life is exposed for us to see, and it’s always interesting to take a break in the large kelp beds surrounding Battleship Island (a National Wildlife Refuge).

If you’re not bringing a vehicle to San Juan Island, complimentary shuttle service is available for this trip. Join us!

On behalf of all of the Entirenet guests visiting Decatur Island this past weekend, please allow me to offer our deepest appreciation for all of your help in making our day on Decatur a resounding success! Everyone enjoyed the kayaking tours. I personally compliment you on getting the baby seals and eagles to cooperate. :)

Only with your expertise, hard work, and generosity could our day have turned out so great! I truly enjoyed working with everyone in the shop planning out the day, and on the beach on Saturday. You definitely made my job so much easier!

I do look forward to working with you for next year’s event, if not sooner!

With kindest regards,
