Lasting 3 hours in duration, these kayak tours are the perfect length trip for folks who want to be active but don’t want to get too tired. Launching into the beautiful waters of Burrows Bay allows most trips to explore the interesting shorelines of three uninhabited islands that provide the perfect habitat for seals, porpoise, and a variety of inter-tidal creatures.
Note: This trip is great for all ages, although it’s probably best experienced by people aged 6 years and up.

Half Day Trips—In Single Kayaks only!

If you have had previous kayaking experience, or are interested in learning a little more technical knowledge about the sport, then this may be your trip. It combines the best parts of a regular tour, with just enough instruction to get you excited about sea kayaking. The itinerary is the same as our other half-day trips, and also lasts three hours, but we limit the trips to four people in one-man kayaks for an exclusive and exciting experience! We’re the only outfitter able to offer this option!

Family-Friendly Kayak Trips

We are thrilled to begin our sixth year as the exclusive concessionaire at Deception Pass State Park! Our continued partnership with Washington State Parks allows us to run the most family-friendly kayak tour in the San Juan Islands. This trip lasts for an hour and a half and departs from the protected and wildly scenic beach of Bowman Bay. We avoid the notorious currents in the Deception Pass Narrows, choosing instead to venture along the calm waters just outside. Fabulous views and lots of wildlife make this a real winner for families with small children, or folks who want a shorter trip.

Full Day Trips

The next best thing to a multiple day kayak expedition in the San Juan Islands would be to spend the best part of a day out there! A full five hours gives you ample time to circumnavigate one or more of the three gorgeous islands in Burrows Bay. This trip includes a stop at one of the “pocket beaches” found on the islands, and many trips even climb up to the historic lighthouse found on the west side of Burrows Island. Bring a lunch, water shoes, and a sense of adventure, this trip is too much fun!
