November, 2005

Sea kayaking in the San Juan Islands has been postponed from the end of October through November. Megan an I have taken our son Taiga down to the desert for his first birthday. We spent the first part of the trip in the wilderness of S. Utah. He seemed to enjoy riding in the backpack, and crawling around on the sandstone, as we explored our favorite area down there. Our close friends Patrick, Brian, and Rachel joined us for what became the first annual "Taiga-fest", we look forward to doing this again next Fall. Now we are visiting family in Tucson for Thanksgiving. I have added a couple of images of our Utah adventure, I know that it's not sea kayak photos- but what the heck!
We are excited to resume kayaking at the beginning of December. The weather generally gets a bit more stable for the next few months, and the San Juan Islands are filled with rafts of migratory birds that winter over in protected bays. Sea kayaking during this time of the year can be incredibly rewarding.
We'll see you soon! The Anacortes Kayak Tours Team
