Summer is gone?

Well, by all the sunshine that we've been having over the last several weeks it looks to be a genuine Indian Summer. The air temperature has been amazing, winds are calm, and our guides have been telling us that these have been the best trips of the year so far. The only thing that seems to be missing from the peak months of summer are the power boats. In October things really quiet down out here. The yachts all get "put to bed" and for kayakers the area really opens up and feels incredibly wild.

It's hard to believe that the summer passed by so quickly. Now it is time to head south with our little boy for a few weeks in the Great American Desert. We have a special and secret wilderness place that we've been visiting for years down there that will be a great place to celebrate his second birthday.

Our three hour Burrows Island trip will resume after we get back (early November). Be sure to give us a call to experience winter kayaking in the San Juans!
