Quiet Days of Winter

Well it is a little embarrassing that I was unable to keep up with our kayak trip reports last summer. I suppose it is a good thing to be so busy that a few things get left behind. Our summer can best be described as a resounding success, and our guides....well, they were incredible! We really asked a lot of them this year, it was so darned busy that they each did the work of nearly 2 people. We are so grateful that they all stepped up and made the season happen. Hard working people, every one of them!

Now things have quieted down some. It's the time of year where I get the chance to go kayaking a lot, catch up with friends, and spend lots of time with my wife and two sons. As the days get shorter we try to spend as much time outdoors as we can. It's the best way to avoid the "cabin fever" that afflicts so many folks in the depths of December and January. Lucky for us, our sons seem unaffected by playing in the rain and cold. If you live here in the winter time, and you like to be outside, you really don't have much choice.

On another note, I was out paddling with Justine Curgenven on Sunday, she was here to promote her latest movie This Is The Sea 4 . Like the previous three movies, this one features world-class sea kayaking footage. If you want to see what is possible to accomplish in a sea kayak, then these movies are your best resource. Check it out, you will be amazed!
