"This is nowhere near Friday Harbor, when we say 'Outer Islands' sea kayaking trips, we mean it."

Multi-Day Sea Kayaking in the San Juan Islands

(Because sometimes one day of kayaking is just not enough.)

Relaxing in the San Juan Islands.Joining a multi-day sea kayaking trip into the San Juan Islands will allow you to really immerse yourself into the San Juan experience. After all, there's a lot more to a great sea kayak trip than just the kayaking.

Paddling, walking the trails, skipping stones, and simply sitting quietly at water's edge are all part of getting to know the San Juan Islands, and a multi day kayaking tour is the easiest way to get this sort of experience.

For the 2008 summer Anacortes Kayak Tours is excited to be able to offer you several different overnight sea kayaking trips to some of the most interesting paddling destinations in the San Juan Islands.

These multi-day kayaking tours are all inclusive; thoughtfully planned meals, new camping equipment, quality sea kayaking gear, and professional kayak guides are at your disposal.
We take care of the details so that you can relax and enjoy your time off.

As with all of our sea kayaking trips in the San Juan Islands, you maximize your time by departing directly from Anacortes, the Home Port of the San Juans.

All trips will be kayaking in the best Orca whale viewing area in Washington State- the San Juan Islands!

With Anacortes Kayak Tours there are no hidden expenses such as parking fees at the ferry terminal, or rising ferry prices (nearly $50 for a car and one person in 2007) and you won't have to worry about missing your scheduled ferry at the end of the trip. Simplify your life.

  • On these multi-day sea kayaking expeditions we strictly adhere to a 4 guest per guide ratio, with a maximum of 8 guests. All trips larger than 4 people will have two guides.
  • Groups of 4 or more guests can choose to have a private kayaking experience!
  • A small sea kayaking group can move much more efficiently. We need less time attending to logistical issues like setting up or breaking camp and have more time for exploring and having fun in the San Juan Islands.
  • All camping and kayaking equipment is provided, as are all meals, including lunches.

4-Day Sea Kayaking Trip:

Tide pool explorations, San Juan Islands, WashingtonDestination: Friday Harbor, San Juan Island. Need a little more time for sea kayaking in the San Juans? Plan your vacation around this fantastic, one-way, kayak tour of the islands. Four days gives us the opportunity to get absorbed into the pace of island life. With plenty of stops along the way to Friday Harbor, you will get to know the San Juan Islands better than many of the residents out here, and the one-way itinerary means that we don't need to retrace our steps to get back home.

5 day Sea Kayaking Trips:

San Juan Islands, Multiday kayaking tripsThis multi-day sea kayaking trip into the San Juan Islands is the most exciting of all the kayaking tours that Anacortes Kayak Tours offers. With this kind of time at our disposal we can really cover some territory!

Every trip is different, we like to allow a certain amount of "self determination" on these longer tours to make them unique, a true expedition. Most of these kayaking trips paddle out to either the Wasp Island Group, or up to Sucia Island. Our guides are professionals and they will be able to create the best itinerary in accordance with the groups needs and abilities.

This longer multi-day sea kayaking expedition is best suited for folks in reasonably good shape. Occasionally there is a need to make a long push to get to the next campsite and we would not want to wear anyone out on a long crossing. We actually design these trips to be a little more physically involved. 5 day trips average 8-10 miles per day paddling.

Have you heard about our unique and family friendly

multi-day sea kayaking policy?

It's simple: Book a group of four or more people and we will guarantee your own private kayaking trip, at no extra charge! This is great for people looking for an exclusive experience, or for families with younger kids.

Family friendly kayakingAs we enjoy the wonders of child development with our two little sons, we ask ourselves how anyone could resist being child-friendly out here?!

Oddly enough, many kayak companies don't want to bother with kids under 12 years old.  That is incredibly unfortunate because these younger folks are often the people who get the most out of the experience.

Besides, we really owe it to them to get them away from the video games and widen their perspectives a little.

Well here at Anacortes Kayak Tours we love kids. In fact, it's another one of our specialties. With our Deception Pass family kayak tours, and our multi-day kayaking program which also caters to families, we've pretty much cornered the market on family fun in a sea kayak!

Because we offer all groups of four or more their own private guide, and no other guests, we are able to accomodate families with children as young as 5 years old. Your family can kayak as fast and as far as you'd like with no pressure to keep up with the rest of the group. This is the only way to go if you have kids, and we are the only ones who will do this for you.

We run the smallest group sizes in the industry so these trips fill quickly! Book now to ensure a place on the sea kayaking trip that you choose!

Once you book a kayak tour with us we will run it, as long as weather conditions permit us to conduct a safe sea kayaking excursion.

On multiday sea kayaking trips we do have a minimum of two people to run the trip, this is a matter of safety- not economics. Be wary of any outfitter making unreasonable claims of "no minimums", they may be taking a risk with your well being.
