Alex Lalonde

Guide

Happiest in the seat of a kayak, Alex is passionate and enthusiastic about all forms of adventure sports. He is most commonly found floating down his local rivers or exploring waterways across the globe. With a diverse background in whitewater, sea kayaking, open canoeing, rock and ice climbing he loves being in the outdoors and helping others build their skills. Alex found a love for the outdoors at a young age growing up amongst the gorges, lakes, and hills of Ithaca, NY. Taking that love to university and studying outdoor recreation at Tompkins CCC, and Expeditionary Studies at SUNY Plattsburgh, he found a love for guiding and coaching. Alex has done many personal expeditions on the coast of Maine, in the complex tidal waters of Wales and Scotland, guided internationally in the UK, and recently returned from a 2 month whitewater expedition in Nepal. Alex is a British Canoeing Sea Kayak Leader (4 star), UKCC Level 1 Coach, ACA Level 4 Whitewater Kayak Instructor, AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, and a Wilderness First Responder.

With a solid paddling resume and his calm and engaged personality we are happy to have him aboard the AKT crew.
